Located almost in the heart of Seymour, (600m from the train station), our cellar door has been designed to provide visitors with the opportunity to experience a working winery.
Visitors can choose to relax in the sleek & cosy Cellar Door, or to step through the steel doors to be in the Main Cellar along with the winemaking action.
Built in the late 1940’s, the building was constructed as a ‘Dyeworks’ and was an economic hub for post-war Seymour. Where giant wool looms once operated is now the Main Cellar, while the former administration areas now accommodate our Cellar Door.
Wine by Sam redeveloped the building in 2016/17, some winemaking equipment was relocated to the site, however much needed to be custom made to suit. The Cellar Door was developed harnessing the skills of local tradespeople and materials, and features timbers salvaged from the Plunkett Family Farm.
