Pale straw colour, aromas of white peach and citrus and a suggestion of sweet spice from oak
This wine has a pale straw colour, aromas of white peach and citrus and a suggestion of sweet spice from oak. On the palate the wine feels super fresh, but there is a talcy texture which tames the acid. It has a great length of flavour, and if you ever cellar Chardonnay this is the one to put away for a few years.
This Chardonnay is more Stardust than Muscle with its restrained alcohol, racy acidity and minerality!
Around 60% of the fruit for this wine cam from our family vineyard in the Strathbogie Ranges, with the balance from the Chris Bennett’s Antcliff’s Chase vineyard which is one of the most elevated and coolest vineyards in the region.
The winemaking is “hands”-off – most was spontaneous ferment in barrel and left on lees for eight months. We played with different levels of solids in the barrels. There was no acid added and no fining of the wine
We really like this wine and hope you do to!
