Pale straw colour, aromas of white peach and citrus and a suggestion of sweet spice from oak

This zippy dry wine has a pale straw colour, aromas of white peach and citrus, and a suggestion of sweet spice from oak.
On the palate the wine feel super fresh, but there is a talcy texture that tames the acid. It has great length of flavour, and if you ever cellar Chardonnay this is one to put away for a few years.
‘Heathcote fruit provides a deep, densely coloured canvas for a medium-bodied, gently unfolding shiraz upholding the strongest Heathcote traditions of ripe black fruits, lifted spice and naturally achieved structure. Good drinking right now’
Jeni Port Aug 2021
This Chardonnay is more Stardust than Muscle with its moderate alcohol, racy acidity and minerality!
The fruit came from Chris Bennett’s Antcliff’s Chase vineyard, which is one of the most elevated and coolest vineyards in the state.
The winemaking is “hands”-off – most was spontaneous ferment in barrel and left on lees for ten months. There was no acid added and no fining of the wine.
We really like this wine and hope you do to!
