The Victorian label provides winemaker Sam Plunkett with the opportunity to showcase wines from his home state of Victoria.
In 2021 a buddy, Zyin Gantner, made a single barrel of Primitivo Rose as a fun project at the winery.
I loved the zing and freshness of her Rose and thought we should try making a bigger batch from Gantner grapes in 2022!
We left the juice in contact with the red Primitivo skins for around half a day to pick up the colour before pressing and fermenting
This Rose had a lovely pale salmon pink colour, and restrained aromatics of wild strawberry with a herbal note, and a lovely brightness on the palate.
