tasting note

Pale straw in colour, this wine is full of citrus and spice aromas.
The palate is crisp and clean, with a lemon zest texture and a zippy,
refreshing finish.

The fruit for this wine was grown on the Plunkett family vineyard in the cool and elevated
Strathbogie Ranges of Central Victoria.

There is an interesting story to this unusual French variety: when we planted the grapes in
2006, we thought it was the Spanish variety called Albarino. Albarino is a variety that grows
well in a cool climate and makes delicious refreshing aromatic whites. However, in 2008 DNA testing proved that almost all the Albarino plant material that came into Australia from Spainwas actually the French variety Savagnin! Lucky for us Savagnin is a variety that also grows well in a cool climate and makes delicious refreshing aromatic whites – so same idea but different name! And speaking of names, I find this one tricky to pronouce; my cheat is…Suh-vun-ya
Pale straw colour, and a citrus & spice aroma. On the palate the wine feels crisp & refreshing with a citrus zest tetxture.
