Upper Goulburn
The fruit for this wine comes from Barwite vineyards near Mansfield in the Upper Goulburn wine region.
Lime and blossom aromatics. Fresh acidity with just a hint of sugar balancing what might be tart acid. This wine will have two lives - first as a young and zippy refreshing wine and then over four to eight years it will evolve to show a golden colour and toasty bottle aged complexity with extraordinary length of flavour.

The fruit for this wine was grown on the Barite vineyard near Mansfield in the Upper Goulburn wine region. This cool climate vineyard is planted at around 420m above sea level, on a gentle, western slope. In the background is the stunning view of Mt Buller high country and ski fields. The fruit was picked on April 8th, with a clever high tech harvester that leaves pretty much all of the stalks and leaves in the vineyard, with just whole berries arriving at the winery.
We inoculated with a pure yeast culture, Elegance which can cleave flavour compounds off sugars and increase the aromatic intensity of the wine for bottling as soon as we could after vintage, again to preserve the lovely fresh citrus and floral character of the wine. Special thanks to the Ritchie family for helping us access this awesome fruit!
