Stardust & Muscle Chardonnay
Stardust & Muscle 2025 Chardonnay
Yarra Valley
Pale straw colour, aromas of white peach and citrus and a suggestion of sweet spice from oak. This chardonnay might speak softly, but boasts a solid core of fruit and weight. Fragrant aromas in honeysuckle, citrus, baked spiced apple, crisp pear and melon. Turns the flavour up a notch on the palate with the introduction of a gentle savoury complexity and an almond skin, nougat note that enhances. Compressed into a smooth textural style, it flows easily.

The grapes for this wine came from a well regarded vineyard at Yarra Glen on the valley floor of the Yarra Valley wine region. These mature vines are planted on light clay loam, with north south orientation.
2025 was a warm and early vintage in Victoria. We picked the fruit on 19th February, which is a record early pick for Chardonnay of this vineyard. This proved to be a good call as we've been able to make bright, fresh wine with modest alcohol. The wine was fermented in oak - mostly seasoned French oak with just two new French barriques in the assemblage. We brought the light fluffy lees into the barrel for and ferment kicked off spontaneously After ferment we left the wine in barrel for around 6 months, with periodic lees stirring to add texture to the otherwise fresh flinty character of the wine.

A change of grape source from the Upper Goulburn to the Yarra Valley, but the signature style remains. - Jeni Port
